Willie Middlebrook Studio Visit for Colonialism: The Collective Unconscious

An iconic L.A. photographer, Willie Middlebrook (1957-2012) captured Black American life and its collision with racism. An educator and the winner of a multitude of awards, Willie Middlebrook was widely exhibited and collected. This studio visit with Willie Middlebrook was conducted on September 4, 2011 for Colonialism: The Collective Unconscious, curated by Lili Bernard, at the William Grant Still Arts Center, Department of Cultural Affairs, Los Angeles, CA, October 8, 2011 – November 19, 2011.
